Many of our partners work to protect the rights of their communities. One way they do this is by educating people about their rights, and seeking justice when these rights are violated.
In the aftermath of violence and rights violations, justice is an important tool in the transition to peace. Our partners build systems that fight injustice and corruption, and embrace local forms of justice and peacebuilding.
Often, these go further than simply punishing perpetrators, which on its own is not sufficient for peacebuilding. Instead, our partners repair harms and relationships, heal communities and discourage cycles of violence.
