Violence comes in many different forms. Whether it’s hate speech, physical abuse, or a system that disadvantages certain people, we want to stop violence where it is happening, and prevent future violence. Every partner we work with puts this value into action in their local context.
To prevent violence and conflict, our partners need to be able to recognise the clues, and take the right action to stop it escalating. Our partners in Eastern DRC, for example, have developed early warning and response systems that monitor violent outbreaks and prevent escalation.
Peace education is another important aspect of conflict prevention and peace sustainability, to ensure future generations remain resilient to the threat of conflict.
