This month Peace Direct welcomed Dishani, the co-founder of Center for Peacebuilding and Reconciliation (CPBR). During her visit we were able to catch up with her and hear about the latest projects they have planned. Here’s what she had to say:
Over the next few months we are aiming to raise crucial funds for CPBR’s ‘Voice of Image’ project through a Crowdfunding initiative. This will enable them to run an all-female group empowering woman and involving them in society. This is crucial as currently only 10% of the participants are young women.
Crowdfunding is an online fundraising platform to both raise awareness of a project and – more importantly – raise money from many individuals who want to make a difference. In return for contributing to the project the person receives a small gift such as a postcard or bracelet. We are looking for as much support as possible for this – both financial and promotional – and will update you soon on how you can help.
