Because of you we completed Big Give challenge with a day to spare!
This morning the challenge got off to a flying start raising £14,250 by 10.04am! All of this was matched giving us a grand total of £28,500. Thank you.
Thank you to Patricia, Alan, Bruce, Colin, Dereck, Dylan, Emma, Hazel, Heather, Irene, Jane, Jennifer, Jeremy, Katherine, Laura, Leonard, Maggie, Margaret, Mohamed, Raymond, Richard, Rob, Ruth, Susan, Tom, Marie, Paul and the many of you who anonymously donated. You cannot imagine how important your support is to our work.
Your donations are helping people like Guy and Muhammad do to get their voices heard above narratives of war and violence. Despite having lived through terror and violence, their focus is not on revenge, but on working tirelessly towards building a more peaceful future for themselves, and for the generations following them. They do this through music. They are part of an inspirational group of young Israeli and Palestinian musicians who are Heartbeat can spread their message further through the songs they write, record and perform. Your support allows them to buy instruments, equipment, pay for recording space teachers in travel. You have reached out and helped them to become a voice for the voiceless in their communities – a voice for peace, not for conflict. Read their stories, hear their voices and help these inspirational people build a peaceful future.
Your support to Peace Direct helps those living in conflict around the globe. If you missed the Big Give, this Christmas you can still help young Israeli and Palestinian musicians to change attitudes that have led to war in the past by making a donation online or by post.
