The International Day of Peace is celebrated around the world on 21 September.

This year, Peace Day is all about taking action to create a peaceful world.

But Peace means something different to everyone. To some of us, Peace means the end of conflict. For others, it means something more complex − such as freedom, equity or solidarity.

But what does Peace mean to you?

From Sudan to Syria, our work shows us that peace means different things everywhere.

Whatever it means to you: We know Peace is personal.

So why not try chatting to a friend, colleague or neighbour to find out what peace looks like through their eyes?

Will you offer a vital lifeline to local peacebuilders today?

Donate now to support people protecting human rights, fighting for justice and building a more peaceful future.
