Just last month Benjamin was part of a feared militia group living deep in the jungle. Desperate poverty, caused by decades of warfare, forced him to join when he was nine years old. But now thanks to local peacebuilder Henri Ladyi, Benjamin is reunited with his family – and can return to school later this year.

On June 30, local activist Henri Ladyi will unveil a Wall of Hope in eastern Congo as part of the 50th anniversary of Congo’s independence and the centrepiece of a campaign of education on the right’s of the child. Henri will take personal messages of hope from around the world and put them on the Wall for the children and their community to see. The Wall is a unique opportunity for you to connect directly with children who have grown up in Africa’s worst civil war.
