We work to make local peacebuilding more visible globally. For many members of the public in countries like the UK, where we are based, violence dominates the headlines. Peace is barely mentioned. And when it is, it is presented as something that only politicians can achieve. The work of local people actually making the world safer gets little to no attention. This has to change.
Peacebuilders need greater recognition and support in order to continue their lifesaving work, and expand their reach.
We strive to raise the profile of local peacebuilders through innovative and inspirational campaigns and communications. This includes showcasing stories of local peacebuilding, to help millions of people around the world discover the value of peace and understand the ways they can take action for a non-violent future.
Since 2024, we have supported and backed Peace Starts Here, a global campaign created by cohort of local peacebuilders from around the world. The campaigners are inviting people to sign a manifesto demanding that local peacebuilders be seen, heard, and better supported locally and globally.
