Esther Meester is Senior Legal Advisor at the European Center for Not-for-Profit Law, with expertise in issues related to freedom of association, access to resources, and the right to participation. Esther provides legal and policy advice, monitors trends and developments, and works with partners to defend civic space and promote a more enabling environment for civil society and philanthropy. Prior to joining ECNL, Esther was with the Dutch Wilde Ganzen Foundation, where she led a programme focused on promoting community philanthropy and advancing the decolonisation of the international funding architecture. Esther holds a law degree from Utrecht University in the Netherlands.
