“Radical Flexibility: Strategic Funding for the Age of Local Activism” is a report produced as a collaboration between Peace Direct and Riva Kantowitz, an independent consultant focused on innovative and effective donor financing.
This report outlines how a groundbreaking new fund is needed to address the lack of funding for local actors.
It is also a call to action: a new norm is needed, one that utilises effective funding mechanisms for local actors.
Violent conflict is at a 30-year high, and current funding is largely directed at reacting to, rather than preventing, conflict. We’re proposing giving local organisations radically flexible tools which will enable local actors to better generate, implement, and scale their own solutions.
