Mark-Rylance-SQAward-winning actor Mark Rylance and friends will star in a one-off performance for Peace Direct in London on 8 February – and Premium Tickets include a chance to meet the performers at the after-party.

‘Singing In The Dark Times’ is an intimate evening of stories, poetry, music and film dramatising the life-saving work of local peace activists in war zones. These include the story of activist Henri Ladyi, who rescues child soldiers in the rainforests of Congo and once saved a village of 5,000 people from attack by rebels.

Other brave peacebuilders whose stories will be performed come from the Arab Spring, Sri Lanka, Croatia, and areas of Uganda affected by Joseph Kony’s Lords’ Resistance Army.

Rylance, whose BBC TV series ‘Wolf Hall’ airs on 21 January, is a patron of Peace Direct. He will be joined by Oscar nominee Sophie Okonedo (Hotel Rwanda), Meera Syal (Broadchurch, Goodness Gracious Me), Gina McKee (Notting Hill), Paterson Joseph (Babylon, Peep Show), and others onstage at the Bush Hall, Shepherd’s Bush, London.

After the show Premium Ticket holders can meet and mingle with the performers at a champagne reception.

Tickets can be booked at: rylance.eventbrite.co.uk or call 020 7549 0285.
