Thomas is the Senior Policy and Partnerships Associate for Peace Direct’s US Office. With a passion for fostering positive change and promoting sustainable peace, Thomas plays a pivotal role in shaping policies and forging strategic partnerships to advance locally led peacebuilding.
In leading Peace Direct’s Youth, Peace, and Security portfolio, Thomas demonstrates a deep commitment to empowering young people as key agents of peace and conflict transformation. Through innovative programs and targeted advocacy, he works to amplify the voices of youth and integrate their perspectives into policy-making processes.
Thomas joined Peace Direct in 2022 as the Operations Associate for the US office. In this capacity, he collaborated closely with the US Executive Director and Board of Directors to enhance internal processes, thereby augmenting Peace Direct’s global impact. Additionally, Thomas provided invaluable support to the US team’s programmatic and advocacy endeavors.
Thomas graduated summa cum laude with a Master of Divinity from Boston University where he specialized in Religion, Conflict Transformation, and International Relations. Prior to his graduate studies, he graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Religion, Mandarin Chinese, and Human Rights and Conflict Studies from Birmingham-Southern College (BSC). At BSC, Thomas was a Hess Fellow with the General Board of Church and Society where he created a curriculum on the intersection of domestic violence with gun violence, migration, and women and children’s health.
