Learning from Fallujah

Learning from Fallujah looks at the decisions made over the eighteen months from March 2003 to November 2004 by the occupying forces, and considers what alternatives using less force could have been deployed at each stage, with what result. Based on research with a wide range of sources, including eye witness accounts from Fallujah, the findings have also been critiqued by a panel including senior military and diplomatic figures, journalists and NGOs. The report ends by considering what lessons we can learn from Fallujah in relation to 21st century warfare. Its findings have already been used in briefing military units preparing for active service in Iraq.
