AMBASSADOR GILL HICKS' WALKTALK

Hardly a day goes by when our Ambassador Gill Hicks doesn't do something completely astonishing. Her latest venture WALKTALK fills us with pride.

Gill, a survivor of the London bombings lost her legs that day. Now Gill and a core group including her husband Joe, will be walking from Leeds to London during July and August.

It's not a demonstration or a peace walk.

It's a nationwide initiative to bring together people who may otherwise never meet, never talk and, almost certainly never walk side-by-side. It will focus on humanity - on all that we have in common - and aim to create a new 'path' of understanding and reconciliation.

WALKTALK with them for a mile or two, offer to put them up, cook them a meal, tell them a joke, or join in the events planned along a route expected to take in the following places:

Mandela Gardens – Leeds
Beeston
Morley
Dewsbury
Wakefield
Barnsley
Rotherham
Sheffield
Chesterfield
Mansfield
Nottingham
Loughborough
Leicester
Market Harborough
Northampton
Bedford
Luton
St Albans
Borough of Barnet
Golders Green
Hampstead Garden Suburb
Brick Lane
Central London

We'll have more details about WALKTALK over the next month or so. Watch this space.
