Former Ten Alps exec appointed

PEACE DIRECT APPOINTS FORMER TEN ALPS EXEC

Peace Direct, the charity that supports local peace building initiatives around the world, has appointed former Ten Alps executive Jo Phillips as Head of Communications with immediate effect.

Peace Direct was launched in 2003 and is committed to the principle that local people are best placed to prevent, resolve and transform conflicts . The London based charity works with peace builders in Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Europe.

Jo Phillips was with Ten Alps, the media company co-founded by Bob Geldof, for ten years, initially as editor of the award winning politics radio show Sunday Service and latterly as Director of Communications for the group. She worked closely with Geldof on his campaign for fathers rights, was executive producer of his series for Channel 4, was a key member of the Live8 team and most recently worked on development of the Peace Channel. Before joining Ten Alps, Jo Phillips was Press Secretary to Paddy Ashdown.
