The Independent Christmas Appeal
Peace Direct is delighted to be one of three charities chosen to benefit for |
Journalists from The Independent have visited our projects in recent weeks and over the next month stories and photos from the peacebuilders we fund will be featured in the paper.
Donations made during the appeal will help fund peacebuilders like Henri Ladyi working to bring peace to communities ravaged by war and violence. More than this, the stories will raise people’s awareness of the potential of local people, those who have most at stake, to settle conflict without the use of force.
The people we fund want the families and children in their community to live without violence. We picture a world where communities are not shattered by fear and hate, where families live in their homes not in camps, and where children carry schoolbooks not guns. This is how we picture peace, you can help to make it happen.
