Who we are
Peace Direct is everyone who supports us and who we support. Someone once described us as ‘more like a school of dolphins than a whale.’
So Peace Direct is roughly:
- 11 peacebuilders and their organisations
- 18 local correspondents for Insight on Conflict
- 2,000 people who have given us money in the last two years
- 549 people who have volunteered and fundraised for us
- 12 staff
- Nine UK trustees
- Seven German trustees
- One United States board
- Six patrons
- And our one and only ambassador
When Gulalai from Aware Girls in Pakistan visited London in 2010, she was asked whether she had family in London. Her reply was, “Yes – Peace Direct are my family.”
